Teaching pronunciation

Can we help our students to improve their pronunciation? Is teaching/learning phonetic symbols useful? Expecting the answer to be “yes” to both questions, Adrian Underhill shows some ways to help English learners with some of the most difficult sounds.

When talking about pronunciation in English teaching some questions spring to my mind and I would like to share them: How important is pronunciation in your lessons? What accent should we teach: RP, international English, American English? How far should we go when correcting Spanish accent?
